Want to join our WPF development team?

We're looking to add a part-time consultant to our innovative WPF development team at Actipro.  If you are a young software developer who feels you can make a difference and want to be involved in the creation of top-notch WPF user interface controls then we want to hear from you.

Benefits of working for Actipro are that you can work from home, have flexible hours, get mentored by our staff, and learn about all aspects of product development.

Best of all, while we would start out with some simpler tasks, the end goal would be to migrate you towards enhancing our existing control products or creating your own.  This role would bring increased pay and responsibilities.

I'm sure you've noticed the influx of open source 'contrib' projects on CodePlex lately. I think these are a great way to organize community support for proprietary products. Perhaps Actipro should set up such a project appoint someone (maybe an intern) as a liaison. Your customers could then share some of their product enhancements with the community.

If you think this sounds like a good idea, I'd recommend going a step further and making your 'Shared' WPF component library available for free. Doing that would allow non-customers to harness your theming system, which could result in new or improved themes being contributed.

Sure we're open to that. What sort of things would you like to see in a general Actipro Contrib project? I imagine some of the Composite WPF framework functionality would be a good start for that.

Also we have been throwing around the idea of giving out the Shared Library for free. We'll continue to talk about that.

For browser-hosted applications, it would be nice to build on the Actipro WindowControl to create support for a window manager (more flexible than just MDI), which could potentially include message/task dialogs and modal dialogs. Also, an explorer-style "desktop" would be pretty cool to have for LOB applications that run in a "workbench" environment (something similar to the Lawson "Smart Office"). I'm sure other customers would have some cool ideas too.
